👮‍♂️ Neighbourhood Policing Team Feature Update 🚔

🥸 Op Spotter - Over the course of the last two days, officers and PCSOs from the Neighbourhood Team and CID (Criminal Investigation Department) took part in Operation Spotter, a dedicated initiative targeting retail crime and shoplifting. The operation brought together both overt and covert officers who worked alongside local businesses and retailers to identify, deter and apprehend offenders responsible for theft and related offences. Retail theft is often brazen with offenders showing little regard for staff, the community and businesses.

Through a combination of plain-clothed deployments, uniformed officers monitoring CCTV and intelligence-led activity, we focused on protecting retailers, preventing crime and bringing offenders to justice.

Operation Spotter is not a one-off initiative. These operations will continue to take place regularly throughout the year, in different locations with deployments remaining unannounced to maximise their effectiveness. #WeAreWatching
